Before and After

Sky

sky

Sky had a very rough start to her life. She was found cowering in a gutter as a woman tried hitting her with a broom. We brought her to our clinic and she walked with her head down, trying to be invisible. After being fostered by a great family, Sky learned that people could be trusted and she became a perky little puppy. These days, Sky holds her head high and will look you in the eye and give you a smile. She loves people, other dogs, and has a new “leash” on life!

mellie

Little Mellie is living proof that within every hungry, frightened street dog lies a healthy, happy, loving animal. When she arrived, Mellie had a variety of health issues, including a very bad skin problem. She was timid and afraid of human contact. Mellie was fostered by a great family with an 8-year-old girl who liked dressing Mellie up and carrying her like a baby. Well, as you can see, Mellie is like a whole new dog! She LOVES going for walks & being cuddled!

amigo

Amigo was found on the street doing what many dogs do -- begging for food. He was small, filthy, and had scabs on his head from being dragged by a car, but his eyes said, "I am so much more than just a stray dog." We took him in, gave him a much needed bath and little Amigo blossomed into a beautiful, friendly dog. He was an ambassador of goodwill and got along with every person and animal he came in contact with. He has since been adopted and has grown into a beautiful boy with a thick, luscious coat!

chance

We’re not sure what breed of dog Chance is and we joke that he is a mixture of Dog and Chia Pet. He was brought to us by a concerned citizen who refused to see him in this condition and took action. Chance came to us with a skin problem which caused patchy fur on his entire body, but look at him now! He's gorgeous! Chance is playful and loves his chew toys but will not destroy furniture or other items. He is affectionate with people and gets along great with every dog he meets. All he needs is a “chance” to show his love for you!

Isis

Poor Isis was struck in the face by a car and was so scared she literally had to be lassoed so we could bring her in. Her broken jaw had to be wired shut and she was fed through a tube. Through it all, she never complained or acted aggressively. Isis made an incredible recovery! Her jaw healed and she realized that people were okay to be around! Beautiful Isis with her one floppy ear had a rough time on the street, but now she's living a good life in her forever home in California with a lucky couple who adore her.

candy

Candy was our Halloween gift to ourselves. She arrived timid, malnourished and with a terrible eye infection -- her tear ducts were clogged, making it painful for her to keep her eyes open -- a recipe for disaster for a street dog. Antibiotics cleared up the infection and within no time at all Candy was playfully romping around with the other dogs. She absolutely loved running around in the finca and took off like a rocket! Our beautiful Candy has been adopted by a loving couple who spoil her rotten and take her for runs on the beach in California. Way to go, Candy Girl!
